NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 As a warning unto men, 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 about the guilty ones: 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
