The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
