The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers: 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 They used to hew dwellings in the mountains to live in security. 82 But As-Saihah (torment - awful cry etc.) overtook them in the early morning (of the fourth day of their promised punishment days). 83 And of no avail to them was all that they did (with such art and care)! 84 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but in truth; and the hour is most surely coming, so turn away with kindly forgiveness. 85 Your Lord is indeed the Creator of all, the All-Knowing. 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 Do not even cast your eyes towards the worldly goods We have granted to different kinds of people, nor grieve over the state they are in, but turn your loving attention to the believers instead, 88 And say: "I am a distinct warner," 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 who have broken the Koran into parts, 91 So by your Lord, We will surely question them all 92 About their deeds. 93 Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists. 94 Surely We suffice to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 who assert that there are, side by side with God, other divine powers as well: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 96 And assuredly We know that thou straitenest thy breast by that which they say. 97 But you should glorify your Lord with praises, and be among those who bow in submission; 98 And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain. 99
