The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
