And whoever is averse to the Remembrance of the Most Gracious, We appoint a devil upon him, who stays with him. 36 and they bar them from the Way, though they themselves think that they are guided. 37 Until when he cometh unto Us, he will say. Ah! would that there had been between me and thee, the distance of the east and the west an evil companion 38 It shall not profit you today, since you did evil, that you are partners in the chastisement. 39 CANST THOU, perchance, [O Muhammad,] make the deaf hear, or show the right way to the blind or to such as are obviously lost in error? 40 And whether [or not] We take you away [in death], indeed, We will take retribution upon them. 41 Or (if) We show thee that wherewith We threaten them; for lo! We have complete command of them. 42 Therefore, hold fast to that which is revealed to you, indeed, you are on the Straight Path. 43 and, verily, this [revelation] shall indeed become [a source of] eminence for thee and thy people: but in time you all will be called to account [for what you have done with it]. 44 And question thou our messengers whom We sent before thee; did We appoint any deities other than (Allah) Most Gracious, to be worshipped? 45
