The Human (Al-Insan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Was there not a period of time when man was nothing worth mentioning? 1 Verily We! We created man from a sperm of mixtures, that We might prove him, wherefore We made him hearing, seeing. 2 We have indeed shown him the way – whether he is grateful or ingrate. 3 Indeed, for the unbelievers We have prepared chains, fetters and a Blazing (Fire). 4 Indeed the virtuous will drink from a cup, containing a mixture of Kafoor. 5 A spring of which the [righteous] servants of Allah will drink; they will make it gush forth in force [and abundance]. 6 They perform (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil flies far and wide. 7 And feed with food the needy wretch, the orphan and the prisoner, for love of Him, 8 We only feed you for Allah's sake; we desire from you neither reward nor thanks: 9 Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful." 10 So Allah will save them from the evil of that Day and has secured for them radiance and joyfulness, 11 And their recompense shall be Paradise, and silken garments, because they were patient. 12 Reclining therein upon couches, they shall behold therein neither sun nor hurting cold. 13 And the shade thereof is close upon them, and the bunches of fruit thereof will hang low within their reach. 14 And they will be waited upon with vessels of silver and goblets that will [seem to] be crystal 15 (Transparent as) glass, made of silver; they have measured them according to a measure. 16 And in that [paradise] they will be given to drink of a cup flavoured with ginger, 17 A spring there, called Salsabil. 18 ۞ Immortal youths shall go about them; when thou seest them, thou supposest them scattered pearls, 19 When you look around, you will see delights and great dominion. 20 Their garments will be of fine green silk, and gold embroidery. They will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink. 21 It will be said to them, “This is your reward – indeed your efforts have been appreciated.” 22
