Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 When the Stars are scattered; 2 and when the seas burst beyond their bounds, 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O man, what seduced you from your munificent Lord 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 Even then you deny the Judgement. 9 but you should know that there are angelic guards 10 The honourable recorders. 11 They know whatever you do. 12 Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight. 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense, 15 and which they shall not [be able to] evade. 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19
