Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17

True are the words of God the Almighty.
