The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Ra'. These are the verses of the Book, and a Clear Qur'an. 1 Often will those who disbelieve wish that they had been Muslims. 2 Leave them to feast and revel, beguiled by hope; they will come to know soon. 3 We have never destroyed a township without a definite decree having been issued; 4 Every nation can only live for the time appointed for it. 5 They say: 'Thou, upon whom the Remembrance is sent down, thou art assuredly possessed! 6 Why bringest thou not angels unto us if thou art of the truthtellers! 7 We do not send the angels but with truth, and then they would not be respited. 8 We have sent down this Exposition, and We will guard it. 9 Indeed, We sent Messengers before you (O Muhammad SAW) amongst the sects (communities) of old. 10 and never yet came an apostle to them without their deriding him. 11 So We make it enter the hearts of the sinners. 12 They will not believe in it, while there has already occurred the precedent of the former peoples. 13 Though We opened to them a gate in heaven, and still they mounted through it, 14 They would say, "Our eyes have only been dazzled. Rather, we are a people affected by magic." 15
