They ask thee concerning the Spirit (of inspiration). Say: "The Spirit (cometh) by command of my Lord: of knowledge it is only a little that is communicated to you, (O men!)" 85 And if We willed We could have taken away the revelations which We have sent to you – you would then not find anyone who could advocate for you before Us for this. 86 Except for Mercy from thy Lord: for his bounty is to thee (indeed) great. 87 Say: Verily, though mankind and the jinn should assemble to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof though they were helpers one of another. 88 In this Quran, We have set out all kinds of examples for people, yet most of them persist in denying the truth. 89 And say: "We will not believe you until you make a spring of water gush forth from the earth for us; 90 Or [until] you have a garden of palm tress and grapes and make rivers gush forth within them in force [and abundance] 91 "Or thou cause the sky to fall in pieces, as thou sayest (will happen), against us; or thou bring Allah and the angels before (us) face to face: 92 or you have a house made of gold; or you ascend to heaven; and we will not believe in your ascension until you send down to us a Book that we can read." Tell them, "Holy is my Lord. I am but a human being sent as a messenger." 93
