Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 And made his progeny survive, 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds' 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars (to deceive them), 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 “What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?” 92 Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
