The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 He taught distinctness. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
