The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 About the great tidings! 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 And made the night a cover. 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
