The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
