The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of the heaven which contains the constellations. 1 by the promised day, 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire), 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 when they were seated over it 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over all things. 9 Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire. 10 Surely for those who believe and do the right are gardens with rivers running by. That is the greatest success. 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats. 13 He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, 14 in sublime almightiness enthroned, 15 Doer (without let) of all that He intends. 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 In fact the disbelievers are in denial. 19 and God is behind them, encompassing. 20 Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, 21 in a guarded tablet. 22
