Seest thou one who turns back, 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
