The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man, 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
