The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and gently take it away; 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 then he mustered 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
