The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
