The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O THOU [in thy solitude] enfolded! 1 Arise and warn! 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 Purify your inner self, 4 Pollution shun! 5 And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of Allah's obedience as a favour to Allah). 6 And for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 For when the trumpet blows 8 That, at that time, shall be a difficult day, 9 Far from easy for the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me with the one I created alone 11 and designated for him ample wealth, 12 And sons always present by his side, 13 And made several preparations for him. 14 Yet is he greedy-that I should add (yet more);- 15 By no means! He has been stubbornly hostile to Our revelation: 16 I will make a distressing punishment overtake him. 17 Verily, he thought and plotted; 18 and woe to him; how he plotted! 19 Again accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 20 He looked (at others); 21 Then frowned he and scowled. 22 and he turned his back and behaved arrogantly 23 And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; 24 This is nothing but the word of mortal man!" 25 I will drive him into Saqar. 26 - Ah, what will convey unto thee what that burning is! - 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 It shrivelleth the man. 29 Over it are nineteen (angels as guardians and keepers of Hell). 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
