The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
