The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man, 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
