Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 separating one from another, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 and place it in a secure place 21 until an appointed time? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 as black camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
