The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Woe unto the defrauders: 1 those who, when they are to receive their due from [other] people, demand that it be given in full 2 but, when they measure for them or weigh for them, do skimp. 3 Do they not realise that they will be raised to life 4 on a Great Day, 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe on that Day unto the beliers 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 None belies it except every guilty sinner. 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says: 'Fictitious tales of the ancients' 13 No indeed! The truth is that their hearts have become rusted on account of their evil deeds. 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 whereafter they will be told: “This is what you used to give the lie to.” 17 However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. 18 and what will make you understand what the 'Illiyyin is? -- 19 A Register inscribed. 20 Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 On couches, gazing, 23 You will recognise the freshness of serenity on their faces. 24 They will be given pure wine to drink, which is kept preserved, sealed. 25 The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: 26 And admixture thereof will be Water of Tasnim: 27 A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. 28 Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe. 29 and whenever they pass by them, they wink at one another [derisively]; 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!" 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 But on this Day the believers will laugh at the unbelievers 34 On adorned couches, observing. 35 Will not the infidels pay for what they had done? 36
