We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment 30 From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors. 31 And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations. 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 Verily these! they say: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring back our fathers, if ye speak the truth! 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba' and those before them whom We destroyed? They were surely sinners. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 We created them not save in truth; but most of them know it not. 39 The Day of Decision is the appointed time for all. 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 save those upon whom God will have bestowed His grace and mercy: for, verily, He alone is almighty, a dispenser of grace. 42
