The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 (It is) of the awful tidings, 2 About which they differ? 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 The night a covering, 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
