Pray, "Lord, if you would show me that [the punishment] of which they have been warned, 93 then do not place me, Lord, with the wrongdoers." 94 Surely We are able to show you what We warn them against. 95 Dispel evil with what is good. We know well what they attribute (to Us). 96 Say, "Lord, I seek your protection against the strong temptations of the devils. 97 and I seek refuge with Thee, O my Sustainer, lest they come near unto me!" 98 Until, when death cometh unto one of them, he saith: My Lord! Send me back, 99 that I have left behind. I am likely to do good." Nay, it is merely a word that he is uttering. There is a barrier behind all of them (who are dead) until the Day when they will be raised up. 100 And when the Horn is blown, on that Day their ties of kindred shall be no more, nor will they ask each other. 101 Then those whose balance (of good deeds) is heavy,- they will attain salvation: 102 whereas they whose weight is light in the balance - it is they who will have squandered their own selves, [destined] to abide in hell: 103 The fire shall scorch their faces, and they therein shall be in severe affliction. 104 “Were not My verses recited to you, so you used to deny them?” 105 They will say: our Lord! our wretchedness overcame us, and we have been a people erring. 106 Our Lord, remove us from it, and if we were to return [to evil], we would indeed be wrongdoers." 107 He will say: "Remain condemned in it, and do not speak to Me. 108 Verily there was a party of My bondmen who said: our Lord! we have believed, wherefore forgive us and have mercy upon us, and Thou art the Best of the merciful ones! 109 But you took them for a laughing-stock, till they made you forget My remembrance, mocking at them. 110 Indeed, I have rewarded them this Day for their patient endurance - that they are the attainers [of success]." 111 He will say: How long tarried ye in the earth, counting by years? 112 They will answer: "We have spent there a day, or part of a day; but ask those who [are able to] count [time]" 113 [Whereupon] He will say: "You have spent there but a short while: had you but known [how short it was to be]! 114 Then did you think that We created you uselessly and that to Us you would not be returned?" 115 So Exalted be Allah, the True King, La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Lord of the Supreme Throne! 116 Whoever worships another god apart from God, for which he holds no proof, will have to account for it before his Lord. Verily the unbelievers will not prosper. 117 And say: 'My Lord, forgive and have mercy, for Thou art the best of the merciful.' 118
