The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
CONSIDER these [messages] ranged in serried ranks, 1 and restraining [from evil] by a call to restraint, 2 And thus proclaim the Message (of Allah)! 3 Indeed, your God is One, 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and Lord of the easts. 5 We have indeed decked the lower heaven with beauty (in) the stars,- 6 to protect them from the rebellious satan. 7 The devils cannot hear those high above. They would be struck from all sides 8 Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment, 9 And if any is able to snatch a fragment, he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Are they stronger in constitution, or those We created? We created them of clinging clay. 11 Yet while you are filled with wonder, they just scoff; 12 and when they are admonished, they pay no heed; 13 And, when they see a Sign, turn it to mockery, 14 it and say, "It is only plain magic". 15 When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? 16 and perhaps also our forebears of old?" 17 Say: "Yea, indeed - and most abject will you then be!" 18 There will be a single stern rebuff and lo, they will be observing with their own eyes (all that they had been warned against). 19 and they will say: 'Woe for us. This is the Day of Recompense' 20 "(Yes,) this is the Day of Judgement you had called a lie." 21
