Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 and covered them with torment. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 while you make merry? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
