By the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 A warning to mortals, 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 except the people of the right hand 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
