The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And who glide with ease. 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
