He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because there came unto him a blind man. 2 What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 So you are after him! 6 And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified. 7 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, 8 And is also fearful (of God), 9 Him thou neglectest! 10 Assuredly this is a reminder 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 exalted, purified, 14 (Set down) by scribes 15 noble and most virtuous. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 From what has God created him? 18 Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure, 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 then He caused him to die and brought him to the grave, 21 Then when He listeth, He shall raise him to life. 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let man consider his food: 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 And grapes and clover, 28 And olives and palms 29 And gardens, dense with many trees, 30 And fruits and Abba (herbage, etc.), 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 and from his mother and father, 35 and his consort and his children; 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 o'erspread with darkness -- 41 They will be the unbelievers, transgressors. 42
