A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Mim Sad 1 (It is) a Scripture that is revealed unto thee (Muhammad) - so let there be no heaviness in thy heart therefrom - that thou mayst warn thereby, and (it is) a Reminder unto believers. 2 Follow that which is sent down to you from your Lord and do not follow guardians other than Him; little do you remember. 3 And how many a [rebellious] community have We destroyed, with Our punishment coming upon it by night, or while they were resting at noontide! 4 and when Our scourge fell upon them, their only cry was, "We were indeed wrongdoers!" 5 Then shall We question those to whom Our message was sent and those through whom We sent it 6 Then We will surely relate [their deeds] to them with knowledge, and We were not [at all] absent. 7 And the measuring out on that day will be just; then as for him whose measure (of good deeds) is heavy, those are they who shall be successful; 8 And those whose scales are light - they are the ones who will lose themselves for what injustice they were doing toward Our verses. 9 And certainly We have established you in the earth and made in it means of livelihood for you; little it is that you give thanks. 10
