The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 pay their religious tax 4 And they who guard their private parts 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 whereas such as seek to go beyond that [limit] are truly transgressors; 7 And those who keep proper regard for their trusts and their pledges. 8 and who observe their prayers. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 Then surely on the day of resurrection you shall be raised. 16 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware. 17 And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away. 18 We have established for you gardens of palm trees and vineyards with this water with many fruits for you to consume. 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 and upon them and on the ships you are carried. 22
