The unbelieving assembly of his nation, who belied the encounter of the Everlasting Life, and on whom We had bestowed ease in this life, said: 'This is but a human like yourselves; he eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 If you follow a mortal like yourselves you will certainly be lost. 34 Does he promise you that, after you have died and become [mere] dust and bones, you shall be brought forth [to a new life]? 35 ۞ "Far, very far is that which ye are promised! 36 There is nothing but our present life; we die, and we live, and we shall not be raised up. 37 He is only a man who has invented a lie about God, and we are not going to believe him!" 38 He said: My Lord! Help me because they deny me. 39 Allah said: after a little while they will become regretful. 40 A blast struck them for a just cause, and We made them look like withered leaves. God keeps the unjust people away from His mercy. 41 AND AFTER them We gave rise to new generations: 42 no nation outstrips its term, nor do they put it back. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession, every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another (to destruction), and We made them as Ahadith (the true stories for mankind to learn a lesson from them). So away with a people who believe not. 44 Then We sent Musa and his brother Haroun, with Our communications and a clear authority, 45 to Pharaoh and his Council, but they were very proud, and they were a tyrannical nation. 46 And said: "Should we believe in two men like yourselves, whose people are our subjects?" 47 So they cried them lies, and they were among the destroyed. 48 And We gave the Book to Moses so that they may be guided. 49 and We made Mary's son, and his mother, to be a sign, and gave them refuge upon a height, where was a hollow and a spring: 50
