The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
