And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and on whom We had bestowed the good things of this life, said: "He is no more than a man like yourselves: he eats of that of which ye eat, and drinks of what ye drink. 33 And if you should obey a man like yourselves, indeed, you would then be losers. 34 What, does he promise you that when you are dead and turned to dust and bones, you will be brought forth? 35 ۞ "Far, very far is that which ye are promised! 36 There is nothing but our present life; we die, and we live, and we shall not be raised up. 37 He is only a man who invents lies against God, so have no faith in him". 38 The Messenger said: "My Lord! Come to my help at their accusing me of lying." 39 He said: In a little while they surely will become repentant. 40 Then the shout laid hold of them in truth, and We made them a refuse; so away with the wrong-doing people! 41 Then We raised after them other generations. 42 no community can advance or postpone its appointed time, 43 then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time their messenger came to a people, they rejected him. So We destroyed them one after the other, and let them become mere tales. So away with the people who will not believe! 44 We then sent Moosa and his brother Haroon, with Our signs and a clear proof. 45 To Pharaoh and his Chiefs: But these behaved insolently: they were an arrogant people. 46 They therefore said, “Shall we believe in two humans like ourselves, whereas their nation is servile to us?” 47 So they denied them, and became of those who were destroyed. 48 And assuredly We vouchsafed unto Musa the Book, that haply they may be guided. 49 and We made Mary's son, and his mother, to be a sign, and gave them refuge upon a height, where was a hollow and a spring: 50
