If anyone withdraws himself from remembrance of (Allah) Most Gracious, We appoint for him an evil one, to be an intimate companion to him. 36 Surely the (devils) obstruct them from the path, though they think they are rightly guided, -- 37 Till, when he cometh unto Us, he saith (unto his comrade): Ah, would that between me and thee there were the distance of the two horizons - an evil comrade! 38 It will be said [to such a person], "You have done wrong. Having partners in punishment will be of no avail to you today." 39 So will you make the deaf listen or show the path to the blind, and to those who are in open error? (The disbelievers whose hearts are sealed, are deaf and blind to the truth). 40 Even if We take you away from the world, We shall surely take vengeance on them 41 or We show you a part of that which We have promised them, for indeed We have power over them. 42 So hold you (O Muhammad SAW) fast to that which is inspired in you. Verily, you are on a Straight Path. 43 Verily it is a great source of eminence for you and your people, and soon you will be called to account concerning that. 44 You can ask Our Messengers whom We sent before you if We had commanded them to worship other gods besides the Beneficent God?" 45
