Have you heard the story of Abraham's honoured guests? 24 When they came to him saying, "Peace be with you," he replied to their greeting in the same manner and said to himself, "These are a strange people". 25 Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, 26 And he set it before them, saying: Will ye not eat? 27 He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. 28 Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." 29 They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They said: "We have been sent to a wicked people 32 so that we may bring down upon them a shower of stones of clay, 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 So We brought the believers out of that they were in. 35 But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters]. 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 and he turned away in [the pride of] his power and said, "A sorcerer [is this Moses,] or a madman!" 39 So We seized him and his armies, and threw them into the sea, for he was worthy of blame. 40 In 'Ad (also is a sign), when We sent a blasting wind against them, 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;" 43 But they rebelled against the command of their Lord. So the thunderbolt overtook them while they looked on: 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. 46
