The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the sky and the night comer - 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 it is no merriment. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 but I too plan against them. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
