Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 and the burden-bearers 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
