For, behold, it is the God-conscious [alone] whom gardens of bliss await with their Sustainer: 34 Shall We then make the Muslims like the culprits? 35 What has come upon you that you judge in such a wise? 36 Or, have you a Book from which you study 37 surely in it you shall have whatever you choose! 38 Or have ye oaths from Us reaching to the Day of Resurrection, that you shall be that which ye judge? 39 Ask thou of them, which of them will stand surety for that! 40 Or have they "partners"? Then let them bring their "partners" if they are truthful! 41 Upon the day when the leg shall be bared, and they shall be summoned to bow themselves, but they cannot; 42 Their eyes will be cast down and they will be covered in shame; they were bidden to prostrate themselves, when they were safe and sound [but they did not obey]. 43 Leave those who reject the Quran to Me and I shall lead them step by step to destruction, without their being aware of it. 44 And I do bear with them, surely My plan is firm. 45 Or askest thou them for a wage, and so they are weighed down with debt? 46 Or is the Unseen in their keeping, and so they are writing it down? 47 Then be patient for the decision of your Lord, [O Muhammad], and be not like the companion of the fish when he called out while he was distressed. 48 Had not grace from his Lord reached him, he had surely been cast into the wilderness in a plight. 49 but [as it was,] his Sustainer had elected him and placed him among the righteous. 50 And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes when they hear the message, and they say, "Indeed, he is mad." 51 While it is naught but an admonition unto the worlds. 52
