The day We shall call a witness from every people, the unbelievers will not be allowed to make excuses. 84 Once the wrong-doers have beheld the chastisement, neither will it be lightened for them nor will they be granted any respite. 85 And when those who associated partners with Allah see their (Allah's so-called) partners, they will say: "Our Lord! These are our partners whom we used to invoke besides you." But they will throw back their word at them (and say): "Surely! You indeed are liars!" 86 And they will offer (their full) submission to Allah (Alone) on that Day, and their invented false deities [all that they used to invoke besides Allah, e.g. idols, saints, priests, monks, angels, jinns, Jibrael (Gabriel), Messengers, etc.] will vanish from them. 87 Those who disbelieved and hindered others from the way of Allah - We shall increase for them torment upon torment for they have been spreading corruption. 88 And beware a Day whereon We shall raise up in every community a witness regarding them from amongst themselves, and We shall bring thee as a witness regarding these. And We have revealed unto thee the Book as an exposition of everything and as a guidance and mercy and glad tidings to the Muslims. 89
