And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They replied: "We worship idols and are devoted to them." 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 Or do they benefit you, or do you harm?" 73 They said: Nay, but we found our fathers acting on this wise. 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 you and those ancient forebears of yours? 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 And who, I hope, will condone my faults on the Day of Judgement. 82 My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good 83 and grant me an honourable reputation among posterity, 84 and place me among those who shall inherit the garden of bliss! 85 And forgive my father; verily he is of the erring. 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children 88 “Except he who presented himself before Allah, with a sound* heart.” (Intact or unblemished.) 89 For, [on that Day,] paradise will be brought within sight of the God-conscious, 90 And the (Hell) Fire will be placed in full view of the erring. 91 And it will be said unto them: Where is (all) that ye used to worship 92 apart from God? Do they help you or help themselves?' 93 They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray 94 Together with the hordes of Iblis. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 "'By Allah, we were truly in an error manifest, 97 When we equalled you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 yet they who have seduced us [into believing in you] are the truly guilty ones! 99 and we have no intercessors now, 100 “Nor a caring friend.” 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 103 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
