Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
