The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Imagine such men not that they shall be raised up? 4 For a mighty day, 5 The day when (all) mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No indeed! Verily the deeds of the wicked are in the Record locked up in the prison-house! 7 And what will explain to thee what Sijjin is? 8 A written record. 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 And none can deny it but the Transgressor beyond bounds the Sinner! 12 When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago." 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. 16 Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun? 19 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed, 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Delight, 22 On couches face to face. 23 You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be served the choicest wine, sealed 25 its seal is musk, for this let the competitors compete; 26 With the wine is a drink from Tasnim, 27 A fountain from which only they who are honoured drink. 28 The wicked used to laugh at the believers -- 29 and whenever they pass by them, they wink at one another [derisively]; 30 And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; 31 and when they saw them, they said [scornfully], "These men have surely gone astray," 32 But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! 33 So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, 34 seated upon their couches, they are looking around. 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded what they were doing? 36
