The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe unto the defrauders: 1 when they measure against the people, take full measure 2 And who, when they measure unto them or weigh for them, diminish. 3 Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? 6 NAY, VERILY, the record of the wicked is indeed [set down] in a mode inescapable! 7 How will you comprehend what Sijjin is? 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. 11 And none will deny it, except every transgressor, rebel. 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 By no means! Aye! encrusted upon their hearts is that which they have been earning. 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 and then, behold, they shall enter the blazing fire 16 Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 It is a distinctly written record 20 Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. 21 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure 22 seated on couches and gazing around in wonder. 23 You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They are given to drink of a pure wine, sealed, 25 The last thereof (that wine) will be the smell of musk, and for this let (all) those strive who want to strive (i.e. hasten earnestly to the obedience of Allah). 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 and, on returning to their people, boast about what they had done. 31 And when they saw them, they said: "Verily! These have indeed gone astray!" 32 But they (disbelievers, sinners) had not been sent as watchers over them (the believers). 33 So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, 34 On high couches, gazing. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
