Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
