Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 THESE ARE MESSAGES of the divine writ, full of wisdom, 2 for a guidance and a mercy to the good-doers 3 who establish the prayer, pay the obligatory charity, and firmly believe in the Everlasting Life. 4 These are on guidance from their Lord, and these! they are the blissful ones. 5 (In an attempt to show that God's revelations are only ancient legends) some people pay for meaningless tales to draw others attention away from the Quran without knowledge and treat as a matter of fun. They will suffer a humiliating torment. 6 And when Our signs are recited to such a man he turns away, waxing proud, as though he heard them not, and in his ears were heaviness; so give him good tidings of a painful chastisement. 7 Lo! those who believe and do good works, for them are the gardens of delight, 8 Therein they will be abiders: a true promise of Allah. And He is the Mighty, the Wise. 9 He created the skies without a support, as you can see, and placed stabilisers in the earth that you may dwell at ease as it revolves; and dispersed on it all varieties of creatures, and He sent down water from the skies and grew all kinds of splendid things upon it. 10 Allah has created this – therefore show me what has been created by those other than Him; in fact the unjust are in open error. 11
