And the king said: Surely I see seven fat kine which seven lean ones devoured; and seven green ears and (seven) others dry: O chiefs! explain to me my dream, if you can interpret the dream. 43 They said: "Mixed up false dreams and we are not skilled in the interpretation of dreams." 44 Then the one of the twain, who was saved, and now recollected himself after a period, said: I, even I, shall declare unto you the interpretation thereof; so send me forth. 45 "O Joseph!" (he said) "O man of truth! Expound to us (the dream) of seven fat kine whom seven lean ones devour, and of seven green ears of corn and (seven) others withered: that I may return to the people, and that they may understand." 46 Joseph said, "You shall sow for seven consecutive years as usual, but leave in the ear the harvest that you reap, except for a little which you may eat. 47 Then will come after that seven difficult [years] which will consume what you saved for them, except a little from which you will store. 48 "Then thereafter will come a year in which people will have abundant rain and in which they will press (wine and oil)." 49
